WHO : Healthy workplaces: a WHO global model for action

Description:

The healthy workplaces model is the result of a workshop held in 2009, it combines evidence-based approaches and principles of health protection and health promotion. The ideas are not new, but the model is innovative as it combines the four avenues of influence employers can take, with the participation of workers. This model for action addresses:

• work-related physical and psychosocial risks;

• promotion and support of healthy behaviours;

• broader social and environmental determinants.

Why this Tool/Guidance?

This model provides information usefull for the development of legislation related to occupational health and safety.
